Although it is 80 degrees here in Los Angeles, I realize that throughout most of the country, winter is in full swing. In fact, I wish it was cooler here, because I love to wrap up in sweaters, jackets, scarves, and shawls. Maybe in a week or two it will cool down and I can do more than dream about wearing a beautiful shawl.

Right now the King Ranch Saddle Shop website has some wonderful shawls available in a variety of patterns and colors. Shawls are an easy way to update your wardrobe for the cool weather, while keeping you warm and cozy at the same time. I love the colors and the bold graphic patterns in the Red/Brown Knit Shawl (left, $218). Navajo inspired designs have been extremely popular this fall and winter, which has made me very happy. However, the good news is that these patterns are classic and will never go out of style. I am also loving the Ocean Wave Blue Knit Shawl by Rhonda Stark (center, $122). It is an elegant cape shawl made of Italian knit that is very soft and lightweight, with subtle waves of ocean blue colors. Because it is a lighter shawl, it can be worn year around. The Two Grey Hills Shawl by Tasha Polizzi (right, $264) is hand crafted in hues of grey and features Santa Fe inspired designs and fringe accents. This shawl can be dressed up or down to be worn with jeans or an elegant black outfit. These three shawls are so distinctive and beautiful, I can't decide which one I like best!
